Marie Morice: Navigating Sexual Wellness and Empowerment Through Coaching

Marie Morice is a Clinical Sexologist, who in 2022 graduated from the Animas Accredited Diploma in Transformative Coaching. She furthered her expertise by obtning certification as a Sex Coach through SCU Sex Coach University with its Core Certified Sex Coach Trning program.

Since then, Marie has launched Lilith Your Life, an initiative dedicated to empowering women through midlife sex coaching and ding them in reconnecting with their sexuality, desires, and needs. She is an advocate for sex positivity and pleasure-based sexual health, emphasizing the importance of autonomy and power. Her vision is to establish the premier online platform and app focused on women's sexual pleasure and wellness.

The following conversation offers a candid look into Marie’s coaching journey, starting from Animas through her current eavors in Sex Coaching.

Question: Where did your coaching journey commence?

Answer: Fris and family often commented that I was a great listener. That's how my path began; initially, I worked with global organizations, including the UN, in senior roles related to sustnability, ESG, and Sustnable Finance for over 25 years. Recognizing a significant gap in mental health, wellness, and wellbeing within large corporations, I decided to embark on formal trning as a Life Coach with Animas. The program provided me with the theoretical foundations, practical tools, and coaching .

Question: What made you choose Animas?

Answer: The versatility of the course appealed most to me: it encompassed philosophical, psychological principles alongside other disciplines that resonate deeply with my own transformational journey and desire for personal growth. The ICF accreditation was an additional validation point that further convinced me in Animas as a credible trning provider.

Question: Describe your experience with the Animas course.

Answer: The trning exceeded my expectations, boasting intimate cohort sizes and a balanced mix of theoretical learning and practical application. I particularly enjoyed the peer coaching exercises. The only challenge was finding novel topics to coach, which wasn't too taxing once I embraced it.

Question: Did you face any challenges during your course?

Answer: I preferred in-person interactions over digital settings due to my background in physical communication. However, with the understanding that 80 of interaction is nonverbal, the virtual environment presented unique challenges for building intimacy and connection.

Question: What motivated you to become a Sex Coach?

Answer: Over time, as my coaching practice expanded, I noticed an increase in clients seeking guidance on their relationships, particularly focusing on intimacy and sexual dynamics. It made perfect sense that sex should be included among the areas we set goals for. I was passionate about providing a safe space and deep knowledge for this subject, which lacks regulation. This led me to discover SCU's certified sex coaching program under Dr. Patti Britton’s mentorship-a pioneer in the field.

Question: What aspect of coaching do you most enjoy?

Answer: I cherish the transformative nature of coaching, characterized by its evidence-based approach, practicality, positivity, goal-oriented focus, and forward-looking mindset. The Wheel of Life tool is a powerful asset that enables clients to prioritize specific areas for improvement in their life journey, from work-life balance to family dynamics, health management, and relational harmony.

Question: What inspires you most about helping women through this unique phase?

Answer: In my role as a coach, particularly focusing on midlife transitions, I find it deeply fulfilling to see women reclm control of their sexual selves. Witnessing the empowerment that arises from embracing one's sexuality, autonomy, and agency in a world often fraught with societal norms, is an inspiring part of my journey.
